About Solve Intelligence
About the role

This role combines deep patent expertise with AI systems development to drive client success and product innovation at Solve. You'll serve as both a trusted advisor to patent professionals and a technical contributor to our AI-powered patent platform.

🏗️ About the role

We are looking for talented members of our legal and product patent team. We're looking for someone who sits at the intersection of patent law and AI innovation. This isn't your typical client-facing role or traditional R&D position - it's something entirely new. You'll be the bridge between the complex world of patent practice and the cutting-edge AI technology that's transforming it.

What you’ll do:

  • AI Output Optimization:
    • Work closely with our AI and Engineering team to define and develop products and AI systems specifically for patent applications, prosecution, portfolio management, freedom-to-operate, and patent litigation
    • Work closely with our AI team to iterate and develop algorithms and prompts to specialize our AI systems for patent professionals, and prompt engineer large language models for patent-specific tasks (claim analysis, prior art comparison, obviousness assessment, etc.)
    • Build proprietary benchmarks and datasets to evaluate patent AI models against real-world USPTO and international patent office requirements
  • Product Development:
    • Serve as the voice of patent practitioners inside Solve - translating client insights into product development priorities and roadmap decisions
    • Document best practices and develop scalable playbooks for patent AI adoption across different practice areas (biotech, software, mechanical, etc.)
    • Help clients navigate the transformation of patent practice through AI - from evaluating ROI on automated prior art searches to mapping AI impact across prosecution, litigation, and portfolio management workflows
    • Tackle unsolved AI problems specific to patent law complexities and USPTO examination processes
  • Client Partnership & AI Deployment:
    • Act as a strategic thought partner to patent attorneys, IP professionals, and corporate legal teams - building trusted relationships and identifying high-value opportunities to scale their use of Solve's patent AI platform
    • Take full ownership of client relationships from initial pilots through firm-wide adoption across major IP practices and corporate patent departments
    • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and training sessions that showcase how AI transforms patent workflows - from prior art searches to claim drafting and prosecution strategy
