Overview

As a Full Stack Engineer of the Valari team, you will build web applications and SDKs to make developers integrating with Valari more productive. In this role you will build innovative payment products that delight developers, compliance officers and financial controllers.

Valari is building a unified plaform to enable any tech company to offer a bank’s financial services to their end customers in LatAm. Our APIs, SDKs and Dashboards are the tools to manage the relationship between any tech company and a regulated bank.

Your contributions will sit at the core of our Program Management, Compliance and Reconciliation workflows. There are many technical challenges building a fully compliant, user-friendly and integrated money movement platform at scale. We certainly hope this challenge is exciting for you. About Us

Valari is a technology company that operates in a highly fragmented market that is ripe for disruption. While in the US, there are more than 5000 banks, in Mexico there are less than 80 fully regulated banks. We have a partnership with a national chartered bank in Mexico, which allows us our customers to issue debit, credit, investment and insurance products compliantly through our platform.

Our customers range from B2B software companies, marketplaces, neobanks and consumer applications. By partnering with Valari they can quickly launch embedded financial products such as bank accounts, cards, payments and lending to their users. Our customers own the user experience and have little regulatory overhead, while generating revenue for the transactions they initiate in our platform.

What you’ll work on

• Develop and maintain complex front-end applications using modern technologies such as Redux, Redux Saga, Next.js and Typescript.
• Collaborate with designers and other engineers to implement UI/UX designs that are visually appealing and user-friendly.
• Write clean, maintainable code and ensure high code quality through automated testing and code reviews.
• Optimize web applications for performance and scalability.
• Owning the full release lifecycle, from feature development to public and hosted release.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Work closely with back-end engineers to integrate front-end applications with APIs.
• Participate in design and architecture discussions and provide input on how to improve the overall user experience.
• Support our customers with triaging, investigating and pushing solutions to incidents happening in the platform with maximum urgency.

What do you need to excel in this role

• Demonstrated technical ability building full-stack applications with Javascript, preferable with React, Typescript and Next.js
• Relevant work experience in high growth software companies or a graduate degree from a related educational program.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, with team members distributed across the world.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate product requirements into detailed milestones and sprints to deliver projects on time.

You’re a great fit if you have

• Experience working at the intersection of Product and Engineering, where you have demonstrated ability to plan, execute and deliver cross-functional products.
• Experience building publishable client-side SDKs in Javascript, iOS, Java or Kotlin.
• A desire to perform and grow as an engineer.
• Previous experience from a start-up or fintech environment.
• Passionate about the market opportunity to provide better financial services to the 600M people living in LATAM.
• Understanding of financial services infrastructure, payment networks and the importance of compliance and fraud prevention.
