About Airhart Aeronautics

Airhart Aeronautics is building airplanes anyone can fly. We are developing advanced flight control hardware, software, and systems to enable a new generation of pilots to fly airplanes. Traditionally, pilots have to manage all of the mechanics of flight, while juggling communication, navigation, passengers, congested airspaces, and possible emergencies. Airhart's advanced technology extends the ideas of fly-by-wire aircraft to a new level to make flying simple, intuitive, and most importantly, safe.

About the role

At Airhart, mechanical engineers will work closely with the rest of the team to develop product designs around electromechanical assemblies, actuators, and aircraft integration structures. As a senior engineer, you will have strong project ownership along side a small team of multidisciplinary engineers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of practical experience as a mechanical engineer in industry
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree
  • Experience with mechanical and structural design, analysis and CAD
  • Experience with common manufacturing practices (machining, sheet metal, post-processing components, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of practical experience as a mechanical engineer in industry
  • Experience working with PDM and design release processes
  • Experience designing for aerospace, automotive, or other safety-critical applications
  • Experience working with test labs and testing requirements (vibration, shock, thermal, etc)
  • Experience working with and testing to DO-160G standards

Benifits

  • Competitive healthcare offering + Dental & Vision
  • 401k
Technology

The core of Airhart's technology is advanced hardware, software, and electronics to manage all the physics of flying an airplane. This frees the pilot to focus entirely on what pilots are good at: making decisions throughout the flight to keep it safe and getting where they want to go.

Airhart is building the full stack (electrical design, software design, and mechanical design and integration) into an airframe manufactured by a manufacturing partner. This enables us to focus on what we are best at--control systems--and not re-invent the wheel (or airplane wing)
