The Role

We are hiring a frontend expert who can inform key frontend architectural decisions and help Motion scale the next 2 orders of magnitude. You will work on Motion’s innovative time management platform that helps users organize their schedule and efficiently power through their day. Areas that you may work on include re-architecting our React web-app to improve performance and reliability, improving our state management/routing/rendering stack, increasing frontend observability and testing to quickly detect problems.

You’ll work closely with our ambitious and no-BS engineering team to shape the foundations of our company.

Responsibilities

  • Own architectural decisions around Motion’s frontend application as we scale

  • Re-architect our React web-app to improve performance and reliability

  • Improve our state management/routing/rendering stack

  • Increase frontend observability and testing to quickly detect UI problems

What we’re looking for

  • 8+ years of software development experience

  • Proficiency in React, Redux, and Node.js and other advanced JavaScript frontend technologies

  • Have worked on a code base at scale

Our frontend is written in React. Our backend is NodeJS on Google Cloud Platform. Engineering problems we're solving: automatic scheduling & time management algorithms, managing high web hook traffic, building features on top of 3rd party calendar APIs
