About the role

What we're looking for

doola is seeking a compassionate, driven, and hungry individual to take our partnerships to the next level. Fundamentally, the partnerships team engages directly with partners (companies, communities, networks and more) that refer customers to doola. From there we let founders focus on what they do best (product and growth) while we take care of the rest (launching, maintaining and growing your US business). We don't take partnerships for granted: it's core to the success of our company, brand, and product development. In this role, you'll directly work with our CEO to engage with existing partners, and find new partners for doola. This is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help launch our customers, our company, and your career. For the right candidate, the sky is the limit and you'll be on the front lines for doola, interfacing with companies of all shapes and sizes globally.

What you will do

  • Nurture and grow pipeline of deal and channel partners; this will include inbound partnership request we receive (we get these on the daily) and rolling up your sleeves and reaching out to potential partners globally.
  • Directly engage with potential partners and own the partner deal cycle from end to end. We solve a hair on fire problem for our partners (they need a trusted partner to launch, maintain, and grow their customers' businesses) and need what we’re building, but sometimes, they need to chat with a human before partnering with us. Building lasting relationships here is kye.
  • Develop outbound tools to generate partners and resolve prospect questions before they need to ask.
  • Work incredibly cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales and marketing. The entire team is at your disposal to land the most valuable partners we can to spread doola's tentacles all over the globe.
  • Be the voice of the company when it comes to announcing and sharing partnerships across multiple platforms (chat, email, social media, etc.) The partnerships megaphone is in your hands.
  • Delight partners from the start - there's not a problem you can't solve and an expectation you can't exceed
  • Be the voice of partners in internal meetings to drive product development and highlight success stories for content development.
  • Document and analyze your interactions to help us learn from our partners and make the most of our service.
  • Additional projects as they arise, in line with how you are looking to grow in your career!
  • Forecasting, planning, and strategy to ensure that we can grow our partnerships channel and have it be a significant source of growth for the company.

Who you are

  • 1-5+ years experience in an external-facing role, with a track record of success in strategic partnerships, channel partnerships, deal partnerships and/or a customer-facing role (and experience with inbound engagement)
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • A hunger to create and improve systems, and a flexible, humble, and curious mindset
  • Strong organizational skills and self-sufficiency - you can balance speed and quality, with a focus on tangible results
  • Interest and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

To get a sense of the technology we use at our company, and the hard/interesting technical problems we're solving, here is what we look for in full stack engineers:

  • Thoughtful problem-solving: For you, problem-solving starts with a clear and accurate understanding of the context. You can decompose tricky problems and work towards a clean solution, by yourself or with teammates. You're comfortable asking for help when you get stuck.
  • Shipping quality user interfaces: You can work with others to build and maintain quality user interfaces for a big audience, using Web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern UI framework like React. If you've experienced the technical challenges of rapid growth, that's a plus.
  • Familiarity with the backend: You understand how parts of a system fit together—from the user interface to the data model. Experienced candidates should be familiar with relational and document-oriented database systems like MySQL and MongoDB.
  • Pragmatic and business-oriented: You care about the business impact of what you're building, and you prioritize projects accordingly. You're not just going after cool stuff—you understand the balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
  • Put users first: You think critically about the implications of what you're building and how it shapes real people's lives. You understand that reach comes with responsibility for our impact—good and bad.
  • Not ideological about technology: To you, technologies and programming languages are about tradeoffs. You may be opinionated, but you're not ideological and can learn new technologies as you go.
  • Empathetic communication: You communicate nuanced ideas clearly, whether you're explaining technical decisions in writing or brainstorming in real-time. In disagreements, you engage thoughtfully with other perspectives and compromise when needed.
  • Team player: You understand when work is better, together. You enjoy collaborating cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals, and you care about learning, growing, and helping others to do the same.
  • Bonus points: You're proficient with any part of our technology stack: React, TypeScript, Node.js, and MongoDB.
