About the role

We are looking for a Workplace leader to start, build, and own the Workplace function for Modern Treasury. We are a rapidly growing company with a real estate footprint in San Francisco and New York, plus a high percentage of employees working remotely. In part due to recent events, and in part due to our growth, the built environment has taken on even more significance as part of the employee experience. We want an experienced team lead to come own and develop that employee experience. Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Offices

  • San Francisco and New York locations as they are and as they will become, including lease management and negotiation, project management for office buildout, office maintenance, and employee experience

  • Safety and security, including partnering with our IT and Compliance teams

  • Strategy for other US locations

  • Partnering with Finance on the real estate portion of HCP

  • Supporting international expansion (when the time comes)

Employee Experience

  • The logistical and physical experience of our employees at offsite locations, including annual company all hands week

  • Partner with People Operations to deliver an excellent remote employee work experience

Leadership

  • Hiring and managing an office manager for each physical location

  • Partnering with leaders in People Ops, Finance and Compliance to deliver a cohesive, wonderful employee experience

Because of the nature of your responsibilities, we would like you to be located in San Francisco or New York. We expect you to come into the office many days per week and to travel regularly to the other location.

Week By Week

First Week

  • Onboard with our team

  • Learn about the two current offices (San Francisco & NYC)

  • Start learning about our product

  • Read our favorite industry primers and articles

First Six Weeks

  • Meet various employees across different teams

  • Meet with everyone in Compliance, People Ops and Finance, your major cross functional stakeholders

  • Develop an initial strategy for remote employees: pods, coworking, perks, travel

  • Take over day-to-day operations of existing office locations: everything from snack vendors to maintenance to security

First Six Months

  • Lead lease negotiation, office build out, and opening for an expanded location in New York

  • Hire office managers in each location

  • Own physical logistics for all hands annual offsite in partnership with other cross functional teams

  • Take over in-office events support, including travel
