The Role:
Lumify is looking for a Founding Android Engineer to help us achieve our mission of ensuring that all healthcare workers have access to the gear and resources they need to excel at the bedside and beyond. As the Founding Android Engineer, you’ll build and ship our native Android app through close collaboration with our iOS Engineer. We're looking for someone who has experience designing, building and launching Android mobile apps, and who is ready on day one to take ownership and responsibility.
At Lumify You Will:
- Ship our native Android app
- Build out new features to help us build the best super app experience, all the way from the idea to shipping
- Work closely with the CEO and our iOS engineer to iterate quickly, shipping to users on a weekly (or faster) cadence
- Talk directly to users as they experience issues or have ideas for how we can improve
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working on Android codebases; someone who's built and shipped their own app
- A skilled communicator who is comfortable working asynchronous and remotely
- Someone who's pragmatic and organized, who understands that there's a lot of things we could be working on but we should focus on what's important to users
One web and mobile platform for healthcare workers to buy their gear, find new jobs, trade advice, get advances on payroll, and more. Our tech stack includes Python/Node.js + Vue.js/React.js + Postgresql + AWS + Swift/Kotlin.
We typically do an initial phone screen to make sure we’re on the same page. After that, we’d love to chat with you for a bit longer and then our preferred situation is that we work together for a few weeks on a project (of course, we’d pay you whatever you think is fair).
Often working together for a bit is a great way to determine whether there’s a good match as future teammates and it can give you a lot of transparency.
We understand, however, that’s not always possible for everyone (2-3 weeks, 5 hours per week minimum) and we're also open to a more typical interview process.
