MISSION

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to manage the software engineers in a team, continuously helping them grow, holding them accountable and providing them technical guidance. The engineers you manage will deliver our services to more than one million passengers per day. You’ll be an integral part of a fast-moving, extremely focused product team where you will be able to lead large and impactful projects. We hold each other to high expectations and empower everyone to create a massive impact from day one.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with any modern tech stack (we use Python/Postgres/React)

• Proven track record of increasing the effectiveness of members of your team

• Ability to focus your team members on customer needs

• Proven ability to manage high complexity projects

• Motivated by a fast-paced, high impact environment

• Proactive and comfortable operating amidst ambiguity

Our core services are built in Python, Flask, Postgres, with Redis on the backend and React on the front end. We have some services in Node, Express, Vue, and MongoDB. We deploy on Heroku, Netlify, and AWS. Some interesting problems we're solving:

• Tracking millions of dollars of complex financial flows between travel companies and airlines
• Scalability - our monthly growth rates require us to continually think and make technology decisions against an ever increasing number of users, partners, and API requests
• Expanding the number of products we offer, building in-house ancillary products from end to end
• Anomaly detection across airline/travel website pairs. Many times we tell airlines they are down before they know
• Data modeling to provide a simple, clean API format across 140 airlines' different product sets.
