We are an industry leader with hundreds of customers, including owners, builders, operators, and aerial service providers, across over 40 countries with 200+ million solar panels under management. We’re looking for a talented full-time Lead Product Designer to help develop and execute our design process, skills and product strategy. You’re a hands on leader that is just as comfortable implementing as developing the skills of your team. You love to learn and are passionate about both user and designer experience. In this role, you would dive right into our fast-paced, multi-faceted product team and play a vital role in scaling our user experiences and design system.

Responsibilities

• Own creation and management of the Raptor Maps design system and design standards
• Solve core UX problems across Raptor Maps products that will delight customers and frontend engineers alike
• Work with the Head of Product to define the design process at Raptor Maps
• Act as a player-coach contributing to core product design work while mentoring other designers on the team

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a product designer in the digital tech space
• Experience owning and managing design systems and design review processes
• Ability to collaborate with and learn from other teams at a fast-paced company
• Excellent written, oral and visual communication skills
• Strong understanding of user-centered design and product thinking
• Must be primarily located in the contiguous US
• Must be authorized to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a leader on a team of designers
• Expert in Figma or equivalent design and prototyping tool
• Startup or otherwise fast-paced experience
• Experience designing for professional tools, data analysis software or mobile applications

We have extensively used Python, Javascript (with React), Postgresql, AWS, and GCP for ML workloads. As we grow we continue to build services and abstractions that leverage the right tool for the right job while maintaining readability and ease of use. We emphasize the core concepts and data structures more than the particular technology/language. We do use tools like TensorFlow, OpenCV, and Numpy for image processing and our analytics engine. Many of our interfaces leverage maps or geolocation. Our mobile application uses React Native.
