We call these Superculture® ingredients, a new class of postbiotics made from natural microbes that we intentionally design to make a quantifiable impact on unmet consumer health needs and to address these needs at their root. We're actively selling Superculture® ingredients for oral health and immune health in pets, each with best-in-class clinical efficacy and new marketing claims for our partner brands.

Overview

Kingdom Supercultures is a fast-growing biotech startup that helps consumer goods manufacturers make products that are more natural, healthy, and sustainable.  We’re building an innovative platform to collect, characterize, and assemble natural microbes into new combinations (“Supercultures”), which are used by our customers to make plant-based cheeses with authentic dairy tastes, lower-alcohol wines with full flavor, personal care products with natural functional ingredients, and much more. 

We’re in active R&D projects with some of the largest global manufacturers in the food, beverage, and personal care industries.  Our natural cultures are replacing artificial ingredients, improving sustainability and nutrition, and unlocking entirely new value propositions. We’re backed by Y-Combinator and other top venture capital investors.  To do all of this, we’re building out a world-class team in science, business, and operations, of which we hope that you’ll be a part! Our team brings together world-class expertise in the microbiome and genomics fields, who have published nearly a dozen first-author papers in top journals like Science, Nature Biotech, and Nature Methods. Our technology platform allows us to access broad swaths of unexplored microbial diversity, to screen these strains for novel functionalities, and to assemble them into novel, stable microbial communities using proprietary experimental and computational approaches

Our work is defining an entirely new engineering discipline, in which we are building the capacity to design new microbial communities from scratch within a nearly infinite design space. This combines robotic and software automation, high throughput screening, microbiology, data science and statistics, machine learning, and genomics and in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.
