Short Story is a first-of-its-kind platform dedicated to styling petite women and helping them discover new products. We’re hiring an Operations Associate to join our team. Our ideal candidate is someone who has an outsized interest in startups, ecommerce, and tech. You will report directly to the COO and support the team in day to day functions including strategic, tactical, and administrative tasks. The ability to work cross-functionally to execute projects and drive results is a must.
Day to Day
Customer Experience. You will be responsible for responding to and managing customer service inquiries in our various channels. You will identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and make recommendations to the leadership team
User Interviews. You will schedule and facilitate regular interviews with users to collect feedback and insights to better serve our audience.
Business Operations. Build SOPs, project plans, and execute against them. Complete ongoing clerical, administrative, and routine tasks to keep our day to day operations running smoothly.
Strategy & Business Development. You will conduct market research and identify growth opportunities. You will facilitate strategic partnerships.
Marketing. Assist in creating marketing materials for weekly and monthly marketing campaigns including onsite content creation, email marketing, and others
Data Analytics. We track our performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly cadence. You will be assisting with collection of and analysis of our data.

Strong analytical background. Well versed in Excel / Google Sheets and Powerpoint / Google Slides Must have high interest in e-commerce, social media, digital marketing, consumer brands, and emerging technologies. Entrepreneurial mindset. You must be comfortable working on a small team where your ideas and efforts will have direct application. Previous experience working in ecommerce or a tech startup is a big plus, but not required.
