About the role

Point is a new kind of spending experience; one that rewards you for spending what you have, actively encourages you to avoid overspending, and never charges interest or hidden fees. We’re going after a multi-trillion dollar opportunity to deliver transparency and shake up the world of consumer payments.

We’re looking for a Brand Designer to join our small but mighty team of passionate and collaborative individuals. We launched Point publicly in November and we’ve already been ranked as a top finance app in the App Store, processed millions in transaction volume, and cultivated an enthusiastic community of early adopters. Additionally, we're backed by top investors like Peter Thiel (Valar Ventures) and Y Combinator.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Autonomously evolve the Point brand and work on a range of assets spanning social, web, print, packaging, digital and physical marketing.
  • Contribute to the overall design pipeline and execute on any additional design needs.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on complex strategic concepts and translate them into tactical designs.
  • Collaborate with other members of the design team in a no-silos environment.
  • Ensure consistency of all design artifacts with an uncompromising attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience working at a design focused agency, start-up equivalent.
  • Mastery of digital design tools including Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch.
  • Strong academic background in Graphic Design.
  • Outstanding portfolio that demonstrates your experience in crafting thoughtfully constructed brand identities.

Bonus Points (no pun intended):

  • Experience with Motion, 3D, Photography and Video is a big plus.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, or Webflow.

Point’s tech stack consists of bleeding edge tech like Node.js, Apollo GraphQL, AWS Lambda, AWS Kinesis Streams, Prisma ORM, and AWS Aurora Postgres, but we are always striving to use the latest tools cut out for the job at hand! 

Working on a modern finance product comes with its unique set of challenges. Operating in a heavily regulated domain with many moving pieces, we partner with high quality vendors that enable us to offer services like deposit accounts and debit cards. This means we must build our systems with redundancy to third party risk. Simultaneously, being an innovative financial product there are many different elements of the stack we must build ourselves, especially on the rewards side of things — this gives us creative freedom to offer a highly differentiated product.
