Instrumentl is growing our team! We are hiring a Product Designer as our company grows from our first 1200 customers to our next 10000.
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing, profitable SaaS company that has already scaled the product to 1200 customers at a senior level. As our next step, we’re looking to bring on our first dedicated product designer, who will work closely with our product, engineering and leadership teams to shape the future of Instrumentl’s product as we approach our next milestone.
Instrumentl is a profitable, YC-backed startup helping over 1,200 nonprofits from local homeless shelters to larger organizations like the San Diego Zoo and the University of Alaska. We are building the future of fundraising automation and helping nonprofits efficiently discover, track and manage grants through our SaaS platform.
The Instrumentl team is fully distributed (read: no office!). For this position, we are looking for someone based in the continental US.
A full stack designer with the ability to drive the design process through idea conceptualization, validation, design (mockups and prototypes), launch and iteration Able to flow between overall product design strategy and executing the details of the designs Confident in articulating your thought process behind design decisions Empathetic to nonprofit fundraising staff and their unique challenges Curious about driving product innovation while best serving the customer Hungry for impact & growth and motivated by constant learning Results-driven and capable of executing in a fast-paced environment Passionate about Instrumentl’s mission and the work done by the nonprofit community
What You Will Do
Collaborate with the team in identifying user needs, crafting product strategy and building roadmaps Own the product design process from feature conception, validation, design, launch and iteration Conduct user interviews and explore user data to understand customer needs, identify possible UX challenges and validate new solutions Iterate product feature designs based on user feedback collected through mediums including user interviews, surveys and more Influence the product roadmap by continually refining and synthesizing your understanding of the market and customers we serve through exploring user data, customer interviews and research Actively solicit feedback from internal teams on designs and insights to inform design process Share design and user insights with team to improve understanding of our users Identify opportunities to build and improve consistent visual branding What you’ll need
The following experience is relevant to us:
4+ years of experience as a software product designer, B2B experience preferable Experience solving complex challenges with simple and intuitive products Comfortable leading and executing all stages of design process Has conducted user research at multiple stages of product lifecycle (validation to usability testing) Evidence of strong interaction and visual design capabilities Experience with tools including Sketch, Figma, ProductBoard, FullStory is a plus Ability to operate effectively in a remote setting Excellent cross-functional collaboration and interpersonal skills Owner's mindset
