Responsibilities

  • Ensure success within sports cards category on Whatnot and turn Whatnot into a destination for trading cards
  • Attract and build partnerships with sports card sellers, influencers, athletes, YouTubers, and sports card shops
  • Develop a tiered strategy for partnerships; focusing on a handful of high impact, bespoke executions while maintaining a consistent stream of scalable solutions and opportunities
  • Work with marketing to organize promotions for the sports card category on Whatnot
  • Identify creative ways to leverage Whatnot’s existing network to fuel future growth
  • Lead thinking and analysis to help us better understand sellers needs and the competitive landscape
  • Partner with Marketing to build a healthy marketplace of buyers within the vertical
  • Negotiate and secure creative deals with individuals and networks
  • Lead multiple acquisition strategies while effectively tracking, analyzing and iterating upon the results
  • Monitor key KPIs and regularly hit key company goals
  • Stay close to sellers and buyers in the ecosystem to understand user needs and provide the engineering team with key user insights and problems to solve
  • Be an internal advocate for buyers and sellers in the vertical and ensure we are solving for their pain points

Requirements

  • You are passionate about collectibles and the creator community
  • You have 2+ years of experience working in a business development / partner facing role. Experience at a high-growth startup or creator-focused platform is a plus
  • You are hungry, scrappy and flexible enough to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • You have experience building and executing against a pipeline of targets
  • You have a deep understanding of the sports cards community and possess an existing network of sellers, creators and influencers
  • You are a strategic and creative thinker who can turn research and data into actionable plans
  • You possess excellent communication and organization skills
  • You have a persistent/determined work ethic and a willingness to try anything and everything, and to pivot quickly as needed
  • You are comfortable moving fast in an ambiguous work environment with little guidance
  • You buy & sell sports card online
