Mechanical Engineer - Robotics
Robotire is automating vehicle maintenance for today and future autonomous vehicles with robot and software starting with tire changing in which we can do a set of 4 tires in 10 minutes from pull in to pull out.

Required Duties: • Design mechanical and mechatronic system of custom robotics/automation systems • Creation and management of highly detailed and functional 3D models and detail drawing • Manage subsystem and component level design requirements through cross functional collaboration. • Optimize designs via analytical, numerical and/or empirical assessments. • Design, development and costing of preliminary designs for quoting purposes • Create, develop and release component and system specifications. • Create component and subsystem design verification plans and test methods. • Interface with suppliers for manufacturing feasibility and capability
Required Skills • BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS preferred, or equivalent experience and exceptional ability • 2+ years of successful design of mechanical components including machined, sheet metal, weldments, and other processes, up to and including the related documentation packages (drawings, BOM, assembly instructions, manuals, etc.) for capital equipment or automation systems • Knowledge of industrial automation components such as pneumatics, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, servo & motion, robots, and HMIs • Design expertise for any one (or more) of the following production processes: injection molding (plastics), extrusion (plastic or aluminum), metal stamping, die castings, sheet metal and weldments • Experience with cross functional team interaction (technical and non-technical) • Know you way around a machine shop
