What you'll be doing:
- Work effectively with the Fountain Product & Engineering Team to build new high quality Fountain features and improve upon existing ones
- Mentor and train developing software engineers
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
- Become familiar with the existing Fountain (Ruby on Rails) backend
- Contribute to architectural, design, and process discussions involving the technological choices involved in building new features
- Identify and uphold software engineering best practices
- Work in a supportive team environment with shared code, code reviews, and disciplined quality control; quality begins with the developers on the team
What you should bring:
- 5+ years of Rails development experience
- Strong idiomatic Rails knowledge and practice
- Strong judgment in election of gems and dependencies
- Strong understanding of web-app performance fundamentals and related dev tools
- Strong database fundamentals and experience with Postgresql
- Low level understanding of Postgresql indexes, table types and query optimizations.
- Experience with ElasticSearch is ideal
- Experience using Sidekiq is ideal
- Basic understanding of web technologies HTML5, Javascript, CSS, REST, JSON,
- Experience with the Node.js/React/Redux is a strong nice to have.
Tech Stack: We use Ruby on Rails on the backend and React on the frontend.
