Interim Head, Business Intelligence
Releaf develops novel low-cost pre-processing technology for African crops. Our pre-processing technology allows us to improve the quality and scale of raw materials provided to African food factories (>$200B market), 90% of which run under 50% of their installed capacity, primarily due to scarce quality raw materials.
Skills: Node.js, Google Cloud
You will lead central business intelligence for Releaf. This role will focus on spend analysis of the company's costs. Primarily our spend comes from 3 departments: Admin, Sourcing, and Manufacturing.
In a nutshell (pun intended), we buy nuts from farmers, crack and crush them, and supply vegetable oil to food factories. However, the devil's in the detail as farmers prefer cash and non-standard weighing conventions. We have to negotiate, weigh, and pay in a scalable manner.
As Releaf scales its sourcing footprint from smallholder farmers we will need to maintain a granular understanding of how we're doing vs. our KPIs (cost reduction, share of farmer supply, etc.) that are primarily focused around cost minimization, sourcing volume optimization, and farmer retention.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (we use Google Sheets) and meticulous nature required. Ability to synthesize implications and the "so what?" also critical. Coding ability can also be super helpful, but not required for a strong Excel modeler.
CEO is a former Bain & Company Consultant and drives a culture to promote self-reliance and ownership over one's workstream. You won't be treated like an intern after week 2. We're very transparent about on-job performance, though in private Professional Development Chats.
Releaf is building its data dashboards to prepare for a fundraise this year. Come join us for the ride!
Releaf is emerging from stealth after developing proprietary hardware technology to radically improve farmer productivity in sustainable oil palm while preventing post-harvest loss.
