In the past three years, we have built the largest database of college student opinion with over 450K student panelists from over 1000 universities in all 50 states. The data we collect powers a suite of research offerings trusted by Fortune 500 corporations, universities, foundations, media outlets, and policymakers.

As the Panel Manager at College Pulse, you’ll be responsible for managing the American College Student Panel™– the largest, fastest-growing survey panel of US college students. You will ensure that our panel is capable of meeting current and future business needs. From day one you’ll be taking on significant responsibilities in the organization. The Panel Manager reports directly to the Director of Research.


  • Create and manage acquisition-focused marketing campaigns across multiple networks (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Email) for different student populations
  • Monitor, optimize, and report performance on campaigns across active ad networks on an ongoing basis
  • Develop test plans and experiment with new user acquisition initiatives, then analyze performance to identify the highest impact opportunities
  • Orchestrate team of freelancers to grow and maintain our student email database
  • Manage survey reward redemptions effectively *Build and manage a network of campus ambassadors *Collaborate with the Product team on ways to improve the student experience *Work directly with the development team to suggest changes to internal tools that optimizes workflows.


  • 2+ Years of social media/marketing experience
  • Proficiency in email marketing
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply business strategy to data analysis and recommendations
  • Ability to work autonomously and under tight deadlines
  • Clear and responsive communication skills
  • Ability to project plan and effectively manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Enthusiasm for UX and UI
  • A fast learner with a high level of energy, positivity, and a sense of humor
  • Experience in commercial market research or public opinion polling is a plus
  • Experience in organizing, leading, or participating in campus ambassador programs is a plus


  • Participate in our remote company-wide onboarding :)
  • Schedule Have regular 1:1 meetings with every College Pulse team member
  • Meet with our engineering team to learn about our student panel, our survey fielding process, and our internal panel management tools
  • Collaborate with your teammates to craft your first marketing campaign to fulfill your first client survey project
  • Analyze past social media and email marketing performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Familiarize yourself with the student survey taking experience, and meet with College Pulse power users to understand why they use College Pulse and opportunities for improvements to the platform


  • Complete your first client-facing survey project, surveying over 40,000 students from 150 universities in the US
  • Work with leadership to set ongoing quarterly target metrics for social media and email marketing campaigns
  • Build and manage an ambassador network across college campuses that help us fulfill surveys
  • Synthesize the areas of opportunity to improve the student survey taking experience identified in month 1 and translate it into a plan
  • Explore college student influencer channels that are aligned with our brand as a means of growing the student panel
  • Lower our cost per survey interview by 25%
  • Improve social media and email marketing conversion by 50%


  • Craft and execute a campaign to acquire non-traditional, two-year students into the panel
  • Work with Executive team to plan panel expansion beyond the US college market
  • Grow the student ambassador program to over 150 universities in the US alone
  • Lower our cost per survey interview by 50%

  • Participate in our first in-person, company retreat since pre-COVID, and meet the people you’ve been working with


Pulse uses React and React Native to power our web and mobile clients, in combination with other open source frameworks like Redux, GraphQL, GatsbyJS, and component libraries. We also make extensive use of D3.js to build interactive data visualizations. We strive to keep our stack up to date with the latest web technology to make our applications as performant and maintainable as possible
